FOTODOKS 2011-Festival in MUNICH!
FOTODOKS is a young independent photography festival that focuses exclusively on documentary photography. Within four years FOTODOKS has developed from a provincial event to one of Germany’s most exciting photo festivals. For the first time FOTODOKS will take place in various locations across the city, ranging from the prestigious Münchner Stadtmuseum, to the festival hub, Maximilians Forum.

"Srebrenica - I counted my remaining life in seconds..."
Bosnia and Herzegovina - July 1995.
In the massacre of Srebrenica more than 8000 men were murdered.
Bosnia and Herzegovina - July 2009.
Armin began to document the story of a man, who survived the killing fields.
The exhibition takes place at Gasteig in Munich as a side event of the 26th DOK.fest Film Festival from April-28th to May-11th-2011.

WORKSHOP! Bombay, India.
"The promised city"- workshop is organized for a limited number of professional photographers. From November-16th-2009 till December-10-2009, indian young professionals will work on the "Promised city"- projekt, initialized by the Warsaw Goethe Institute and the Mumbai Max Mueller Bhavan.
The condition of fortune seekers to the metropolis of Bombay will be photographicaly researched and become a part of the whole "Promised city"- project taking place also in Berlin and Warsaw.
Within the workshop Armin will discuss the three photographic pillar system of approaching, editing and finishing a photographic project. EXIHIBITION! The "FotoDoks" is part of the "NONFIKTIONALE"- documentary film festival taking place in Bad Aibling, Germany.
Film meets photography for the same matter- to document.
The group exhibition themed "Echt-Zeit" ("Real-Time") accompanies the festival from september 24th-27th in the Gallery of the Kunstverein Bad Aibling.

"24H BERLIN"
EXIHIBITION! BOOK RELEASE!! Cover Photo: Armin Smailovic

On September-05-2008 80 camera teams and 36 photographers were out on the town of Berlin for 24 hours to accompany the life of the city documentary.
The produced film will have its premiere on Sep-05-2009 (starts 6 a.m.) and is to be seen at different places of the city and on TV channel ARTE (FR/GER).
Next to the film a book with 544 pages is produced (Steidl/24.-€) and will be released on September-05-2009 in Berlin.

A series of 11 portraits were made for a charity evening in Munich.
Footballer Philipp Lahm as well as actor Volker Bruch (Photo) and nine more men were photographed.
The works will be sold at an auction to support the children project of "Arche e.V. Munich". All photographs, in a limited edition of five and a smaller size, can be ordered online (see link below).
